Instructions: I need a term paper proposal. Topic for your term paper proposal must include: 1) a one paragraph description of the topic you wish to write about with four articles correctly cited, 2) a one paragraph rationale explaining why this topic is important to you, and 3) a reference list of the articles you cited. I will later be needing a term paper over the same subject. My term paper will be to write an 8-page (2000-word) term paper on one of the recent theoretical perspectives on human development contained within your textbook, noting the contributions of your chosen theorist. Students are expected to identify the perspective of the contemporary theory and describe current research and application to the field of lifespan development. The page/word count does not include the title page, abstract or reference page. The goal of the term paper is to analyze and synthesize the literature on a chosen lifespan developmental theorist. You are required to use American Psychological Association Style (APA) for all source citations. You are expected to select a topic for your paper and submit it for your instructor’s approval. I will need an outline at a later date to submit for my paper for my instructor. Resources to have been published within the last ten (7) years. You should review a minimum of seven (7) empirical studies beyond the text book. Again all I need is a term paper proposal. Social Development Theory
Social interaction plays a key role in the cognitive development process. Unlike Jean Piaget’s explanation of child development which implies that development precedes learning, social development theory, as formulated by Vygotsy, argues that the consequence and end products of socialization and social behavior are consciousness and cognition (Kozulin, 2003). Consequently, the theory further asserts that interaction precedes development (Carpendale & Müller, 2004). The Social Development Theory is made up of three major concepts. These concepts include the following: the Role of Social Interaction in Cognitive Development which majorly implies that social interaction has a key role in the process of cognitive development, the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) which refers to the gap between what is known and unknown by the learner and the More Knowledgeable Other (MKO) which refers to those with higher understanding capability than a particular learner in regard to the concerned concept, task or process (Cohen & Stemmer, 2007).

Social Development Theory is important to me because of a number of reasons. The availability of such a development theory has the necessary potential of directing us towards what we should do and the underlying process through which it can be achieved (George & Bennett, 2005). To be more specific, Social Development Theory enables us to organize learning activities and our human energies at higher levels in order to achieve more significant results. This activity helps us utilize and realize our full human potential. Moreover, a complete understanding of this theory accelerates our social success rate and gives us the opportunity and knowledge needed to counter the social and development inadequacies. In general, Vygotsky’s work plays a major role in the understanding of child development psychology as it is its foundation. The theory has a diverse applicability in the current teaching practice and the child development psychology application areas, an aspect which makes it an important part of my learning essentials.
