Book 2 is a multicultural book of your choice. After reading this book, please evaluate it based on the Standards for Evaluating Multicultural Literature, pp. 73-75 of your textbook.
The chosen book is Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh. It is a novel specifically meant for children though explains the classic literature of children. In the book, the author uses individuals to represent the characters. The book does not transcend stereotype since it reveals what the main character feels for herself as being a writer. The language used in the book is friendly for children to understand. The author portrayed the book based on the culture of the village.
