Please read the following chapters from Health Policy Analysis: An Interdisciplinary Approach to complete this week's assignment:
Chapter 10: Evaluation of Political Feasibility (McLaughlin)
Chapter 11: Evaluation of Economic Viability (McLaughlin)
Chapter 4: Statement of Policy Issue (Seavey, Aytur, McGrath)
Chapter 5: Normative Values and Stakeholder Analysis (Seavey, Aytur, McGrath)
Week 5: Discussion
What do you see (or consider to be) the most critical part of the health policy analysis process? Please explain and support your answer. Provide at least one supporting source (besides the text) to defend your position.
Written Assignment 1
Week 5 Exercise – Policy Issues Statement Analysis (Seavey, Aytur, & McGrath text) – Review the policy issues statements that are identified on pgs. 79 and 86. Answer the 3 questions provided on pg. 86 of the text to provide a summative analysis of your findings. Provide an example of how each area will be measured within the wheel.
Written Assignment 2
Professional Development Webinar - Select a webinar that deals with health care policy related to any area (stakeholder analysis and involvement, medical decision making using evidence based medical research, economic impact, quality improvement). The webinar may be one that you actively participate in by attending on the actual day of, or you may view a recording a one that was previously held. After you review your webinar, provide a summative analysis of the topic, those involved, the core focus of discussion and findings and your perspective (no less than one page and a half). Sources that you may find helpful are YouTube, and websites such as the CDC, AHRQ, NIH, and those of professional healthcare organizations.
Week #5 - Quiz
The quiz consists of 11 questions. The questions consist of short answers, fill in the blank, multiple choice and true/false answers. You have one hour in which to complete and submit your answers.
