COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course introduces adult learners to various organizational planning models and techniques and applies these to hypothetical cases. It stresses the concepts of strategic planning and strategic administration.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to:
1. Better understand the use of managerial techniques such as written and oral communication skills in guiding a business to success.
2. Build skills in evaluating company resources, strengths, weaknesses and conducting strategic research analysis within various industries and situations.
3. Indentify strategic issues for revision and evaluate strategic alternatives; develop and implement practical action plans.
4. Enhance your sense of business judgment by communicating values, directions and employing technological resources.
5. Gain in-depth exposure to different industries and companies, thereby developing knowledge and a simulated business experience.

Policy, Planning and Strategy Systems offers few, if any, "correct" answers. Instead, the course offers you the opportunities to: explore topics you are unaccustomed to studying; test yourself in terms of being creative, showing initiative and using the tools you have developed and the knowledge you have accrued; explore new approaches and make mistakes without incurring the severe penalties that errors in strategy formulation and implementation can impose in the “real” environment.
