EGGBOT PROJECT PROPOSAL

EGGBOT PROJECT PROPOSAL 3

EggBot Project Proposal

Introduction

The EggBot machine is a grand innovation that links the world of science with creation of artistic work. This machine is unique in its design and it adjusts in order to imprint any kind of art work design on surfaces that are presumably difficult to draw on. This state of the art machine allows the personalization of ornaments for special holidays and occasions such as Christmas or just gift items to which can be given to friends, family or even for corporate. Some of the items the machine can print on include eggs, mini pumpkins, wine glasses and even light bulbs. The EggBot is defined as an easy-to-use and compact robot machine that imprints open-source art drawings on egg-shaped or spherical objects (Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories 2014). According to the YouTube video, the performance of the EggBot project is shaky and slow. The shakiness of the EggBot project may be attributed to the poor design and assembly and the slow performance rate may be attributed to the programming software used. The shaky and slow nature of the project has reduced the performance efficiency of the robot machine to a reduced rate that implies the quality and design of the imprinted drawing. However, the project can be improved through creating a solid design that is assembled with accuracy and precision to achieve efficiency and performance (Glasswalker, 2012). The program itself can also be improved by employing a printable circuit board (PCB) that works efficiently with the potentiometer in order to regulate the amount of voltage supplied to the robot. Due to the large number of PCB connection wires, it is necessary that each step of connecting the wires in place is diligently and precisely followed ensuring each connection is accurately done. The Arduino code can also be revamped with new and improved codes, which will change the speed performance rate by enhancing the speed of the robot and also print filled objects (Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories 2014).

Organization of the study

This proposal includes about five chapters. Chapter one will introduce the project proposal by giving a small description of the project, stating the project problems and identifying the solutions to the problem. Chapter two will identify the background behind the project problem by identifying the problem history, the relevance of the problem, the occurrence and reason behind the particular problem, whether the problem has been solved and what has been achieved, whether the problems has solutions that solve it or similar systems that do not have the said problem and finally, the possible improvements that can be done to solve the problem. Chapter three will summarize what the intended project proposal achievement. Chapter four will look at the elements and scope of the project by breaking it down into the procedure required to actualize the project and the required tools of engagement. This chapter will also discuss the challenges and issues to be faced during implementation of the project such as the type of skills and equipment needed. The deliverables will also be discussed such as the project report, prototype, program and model describing the products of the project in detail. This chapter will emphasize the intended contributions of the project, timeline and budget. Finally, the last chapter that is chapter five will discuss the concluding summary of the entire project proposal.
