Analysis of a Non-Profit Organization – Families First
Families First is a non-profit organization located in Georgia that purposes to ensure that families recognize that they should always come first; a prioritization, which not only enables them to value each other, but also one that contributes to the development of a stronger community. I chose Families First because of the emphasis they lay on family, a normality that has been misunderstood and taken for granted lately. As families increase across the world, so do on goings such as single parenting and divorces, which raises the question of whether families are really families when both parents to a child live separate lives but treat the child as a shared asset. However, Families First does not wholly focus on resolving such familial disputes; rather, it directs its resources towards the promotion of awareness for the importance of families, availability of educational material that increases the knowledge of individuals about family not to mention that they work alongside policymakers to ensure that both the government and employer bodies acknowledge the place of family in each employee.
In Atlanta alone, Families First has partnered with the Amerigroup Real Solutions, The Community Foundation, Jesse Parker Williams Foundation, The James Cox Foundation, and The United Way, all of whom have contributed more than $50,000. From a communal standpoint, partners such as the Atlanta Housing Agency, The Georgia Department of Community Affairs, The Fulton County Human Services, The Georgia Department of Human Services, and the Homes and Communities Foundation of Georgia have contributed immensely to the position that Families First has earned in the community. The lives of more than forty thousand individuals that have been turned around by Families First serve as a positive impact of the generous donations and effective partnerships between thus depicting an proficient biographical sketch of NPO liaison.
The strong employee structure plays an imperative role in the NPO’s provision of services to the community through proper management and allocation of resources. The competitiveness of the workforce as indicated by their updated match with modern dynamics such as tech and communication ensure that Families First offers new and innovative solutions to help children, women, and families in the metro-Atlanta area (Families First, 2016). Under the leadership of Kim Anderson and the assistance of Aisha Harris, Bethaney Willis, Julia Lankford, and Scott LaSalle among the vast network of employees, Families First has remained afloat the global market and illuminated the need to boost the families of the world.
The NPO has indicated an unmatched capability to use the family setting to improve other facets of individual’s lives such as housing, education, efficient transportation, and the importance of quality health to everyone. On its platform, Families First offers fully detailed information about the Medicaid program as well as the Affordable Care Act thus ensuring that all families under and beyond its wings have sufficient knowledge of such programs. The diversity in its exposure to the society further widen it credibility as a fighter for the well-being of families not only in Georgia but across the globe. Throughout its years of operation, Families First has depicted exceptional performance thus influencing familial change to more than twenty thousand families directly and countless more indirectly.
