There are several prophets in the Bible through whom God expressed His displeasure in the mistreatment of the needy and the lowly. He passed on several warnings, condemning such cruelty, and encouraging people to be compassionate to everyone regardless of your relations to them, be they your enemies, the needy, your relatives or your friends. Various books in the Bible specify how exactly we should treat those around us. In the Book of Deuteronomy, we are told not to harden our hearts and not to shut our hands at the poor. We are told to reach out to them, sufficiently give them what they need, for by giving to them we shall not lack for anything as God will bless the hand that gives abundantly (Pine, 1999). In the Book of Isaiah, we are told that the LORD will judge those who have chosen to eat to their fill while someone else is starving and in dire need. We are also told that it shall not be well for those who take what rightfully belongs to the poor from them, and oppress the fatherless and the widows. In the Book of Amos, we are advised that God is aware of how selfish people take bribes and deny justice to the poor (Pine, 1999).
In the Old Testament, God delivered the Israelites over to their oppressors for a variety of reasons, one of these being mistreatment of the poor, the meek, the widows and the fatherless. Despite the prophets warning the oppressors that they will experience God’s wrath if they did not change their oppressive ways, only a few of them changed their ways for the better. They had warned that God would make the oppressors bow down before their prisoners and fall amongst the slain (Pine, 1999). Even Christ in the New Testament gave teachings on helping the poor. In one of His teachings, he advises us to not only be mindful of our friends, brothers, relatives ad and neighbors who may repay us for our kindness, but also to the poor, maimed, the lame and the blind who may not repay you. For by doing this, we shall be blessed and repaid at the resurrection of the just (Pine, 1999).

The prophets called the relation poor in our cities today because, we have no fear of the Lord in us. We have also took out the word of God from the time of school, courts, homes, business, hospitals and the white house. I believe that it has been told about these days to come in the Bible days. The prophet foresees the future as time emerge. I believe, that God send people to tell us what, where and why things are happening to us. Some people believe about prophecy and some don’t believe. Can we take comfort the God has appointed and anointed whoever he chooses? The word of God can’t come back void because God say “Let it be “. I believe in our cultures of today, has different meaning of prophecy. I also believe, we are affected with struggles of out income, food, and shelter for the people. The foundation of the prophets were to enlighten our nation of today on being aware of what’s to happen in our future. Example: Nations against nations, children against their parents, and the community has no respect for the elderly anymore. The fear of the Lord God almighty has left the face of the earth, because man wouldn’t submit and repeat unto the lord. (Meredith, R, C, 2016).
Yes, because nation against nation. Before his word will pass Heaven earth will pass. The reason we go through the rough times. Because don’t listen to the voice of the Lord. We also are suffering, Adam and eve didn’t applied what God wanted them to do in the garden. This is what the devil wants us to do today. Serving other Idols or any form on things that are not of the Lord. We have failed serving the Lord. So, God has turned us towards or triumph, because we don’t listen. Example: When the children of Israel failed by not doing the will of the Lord. Today times, our minds are so easy to be distracted into our own ways. We failed to acknowledge, who created us in his own image. There are great men and women that are prophets in this world that still foresees the past and the future. (Interview Allen, C)
