During this study, dependent and independent variables were both used. The independent variable was defined as the census of 1980. The census data included the percentage living in urban areas, the percentage of state population divorced, the percentage with the household of one, the percentage of the civilian labor force unemployed, and classifications as a southern state. The dependent variable were based on the male serial killers active in the United States during the period of 1970 to 1992. Out of the 151 male serial killers studied, many were convicted of one or more of their crimes.

Perform descriptive statistics and identify issues or outliers.

The variables used are male serial killers based on state of most murders and state of socialization, logarithm of state population size, percentage of uban, divorced, one-person household, and unemployed, southern region, homicide rate, and execution ration (x 100). The total mean concluded 12.9 and the total standard deveiation read 4.0.

Biological and Social factors influences the upbringing of serial killing.

The Census of 1980 and the serial killers active in the United States from 1970 to 1992 were used as the dependent and independent variables.

The type of analyses used is one-sample statistics (N, Mean, Std. Deviation, Std. Error Mean)

Using SPSS, the statistic descriptive read N= 50 states, total mean= 12.9 and total standard deviation= 4.0. the confidence interval= +/- 0.6. the range for the true population mean= 12.26 to 13.54.
