Adults kept active in Japan to prevent dementia, which are viewed as fragile.

3 Myths

1) Older adults have Dementia so that explains why they forget so much and can never remember anything. Most older people I have worked with had Dementia and couldn't even remember my name so its fair to assume that all older adults will forget things. Because of this forgetfulness its harder to work for older adults and please them because they forget and think that you didn't do your job correctly. Its fair to assume that anytime you work with them or for them they will be angry, upset, rude or stubborn because they forget things and are ashamed to admit they cannot remember.

2) All older adults live in nursing homes once they reach a certain age. This is so not true because more older adults are being more active getting exercise and staying healthy. By staying active more able to stay in their homes and lead productive lives within their communities. Older adults can feel fulfilled and have a self worth when they stay in their own surroundings those who have some limitations live with family who help to care for them and check in on them to make sure that they are safe and secure. Older adults can live satisfying lives at home.

3) Older adults who continue to work call out more than any other employees and they are always late. Older adults cannot keep up with younger workers who have a lot of energy and can remember things better than older people. This is so untrue because older people take more pride in their work and want to do a good job. I know some older people who refuse to retire because they re so yust to working that they cannot see their life without working. I have know some older adults to work past  retirement and then go on to get a part-time job to keep working.
