1.Write a reflective essay on how do Bible stories from the past such as those about Samuel, Saul, David, and Solomon help us to understand God today? (350 words APA TIMES NEW ROMAN 12.
2. NEXT RESPOND TO THE 2 POST BELOW (MUST BE 250 WORDS PER POST ) Samuel, Saul, David and Solomon are all Bible characters mentioned in the among a vast array of other bible individuals whose stories were written down many years ago by men who were under the guidance of God’s Spirit to pen down the very thoughts that God himself had. Samuel, for instance, was a young boy when he started being taught in the ways of righteousness by being dedicated to the place that was devoted to the worship of God, and he stuck to this pathway into his old age. His example can be insightful to young Christians who may want to emulate his example of serving God since early stages of life (1 Sam. 2: 11).
Saul too was anointed to the post of the king after the nation of Israel opted for a human ruler rather than having judges like Samuel, who were guided by God himself (Injil.org. 2016). He was faithful to God initially only to start deviating and following his human reasoning (1 Sam. 15:26). His is an example of the selfish human thinking that usually tries to rise above Godly thinking, leading to loss of spirituality and Godly approval which results in missing out on blessings that come with leaving a godly way of life.
David took over from Saul having being anointed by Samuel, who had backing from God and also because he proved to be trusting in God himself in all his undertakings (Growthingod.org.uk. 2016). Well into his adulthood he had flaws that made him disapproved by God’s representative Samuel, but his true intentions came out when he humbled himself and sought God’s forgiveness, and he was shown favour (2 Sam. 12:13). He gives an example of the human frailties as seen through God’s eyes and His ability to read the inclinations of the heart to the point of forgiving even the most grievous sins. Solomon, David’s son, was blessed with riches and wisdom like no other, yet this was no free pass to God’s favour. Its shows that God’s blessing can be put to good use or destroy us, but rather, righteousness is a way to godliness.(REPLY 250)
