You learned in Lecture 1 that an argument is an issue that can be debated. You should look to select a topic that would provide a foundation for some controversy, even if the topic itself is not controversial. You will find that this is true of most subjects. For example, butterflies are not controversial. However, a proposal that green spaces should be set aside from public lands to aid in the conservation of butterfly species might be.
You will be researching the topic you select for the remainder of the course, so select a subject that interests you. For this discussion board, compose an initial post that includes the following:
•The subject or topic you have chosen
•5 questions that you will want to know about your subject that might guide your research
•A few ideas about where you will begin looking for the answers to those questions
•Ideas about other materials, including media, you might use to support your project
