Major Project: Week 2-5

Due: Saturday, June 18, 2016 by NOON

Final Project

In this course you will be completing a Final Project that will be due by Day 7 of Week 5.

Your Final Project is to develop a personal stress management plan designed to reduce stress.

This project is designed to demonstrate your mastery of stress management techniques as they apply to your personal stress management goals. The Final Project should incorporate the ideas and concepts you gained throughout this course into your personal stress management plan. With that in mind, expand upon the work you did during the Discussions and weekly journaling activities, and incorporate that work into your Final Project.

Your Final Project will consist of a PowerPoint presentation with speaker’s notes and should include the following sections:

· Title Page

· Assessment of Stress (2 slides; speaker’s notes: 1–2 paragraphs for each slide)

· Identify the tool you used to assess your stress and summarize your results.

· Major Stressors (5 slides; speaker’s notes: 3–4 paragraphs for each slide)

· Identify five major stressors in your life, categorize each according to eustress, neustress, or distress, and explain why each falls into the category.

· Theory of Stress (2 slides; speaker’s notes: 2–3 paragraphs for each slide)

·  Select a theory upon which to base your stress management plan. Explain why it is your preferred theory to explain your stress.

· Psychoneuroimmunological Model (2 slides; speaker’s notes: 2–3 paragraphs for each slide)

· Based on a psychoneuroimmunological model of your choice, explain what might happen if you fail to manage stress appropriately.

· Stress Management Techniques (5 slides; speaker’s notes: 2–3 paragraphs for each slide)

· Select five stress management techniques and describe how you might use them to manage the stressors you identified.

· References

·  Provide references that support your presentation.

To complete the presentation, each PowerPoint slide should contain speaker’s notes that act as a narration script for the slides. The speaker’s notes should be written as if they were going to be read word for word during the presentation while displaying the slides. It is not necessary to provide a recorded audio narration as part of the Final Project. Tutorials on how to create a PowerPoint presentation and add speaker’s notes can be found in the Walden Writing Center.

The Final Project is due Week 5. The project should be 16 slides in length (not including the title page or references). You must cite your sources and include a bibliography that conforms to

APA guidelines. The Final Project should be submitted twice. First, you should submit your Final Project using the Project submission link in the Week 5 Project area. In addition, you should submit your Final Project to the Doc Sharing area so your colleagues can review it as part of the Week 6 Discussion. The Doc Sharing area is on the left navigation bar in the classroom. Please follow the instructions located in this area to upload and share your Final Project.
