MAT540: Statistical Concepts for Research

May 9, 2016

Quantitative Statistical Analysis.

The paper will explore in detail how quantitative techniques are employed in the statistical analysis. The methodology will include collecting raw data, recording it in numerical form. Raw information can be complex and cumbersome to handle, hence to undo this uneasiness the raw data will be grouped before analysis commences. The paper will formulate a hypothesis and in the cause of investigating it, will explore several statistical calculations.

Quantitative Research Methodology.

Quantitative research is one of the statistical approaches that usually involves collecting, recording and converting data into numerical form so that statistical calculations can be made to aid decisions or conclusions. It usually includes involves two or more variables with one or more hypothesis to be tested.

For quantitative analysis, there are several parameters that are useful for scientists. The paper shall attempt to analyze most of them and draw conclusions later. Those parameters include measures of central tendency and measures of dispersion. The correlational analysis is also essential for interpreting our hypothesis.

Statement of Task

The research shall examine the relationship between hours of sleep and performance in class. The data used will be collected from students and recorded. The two variables and scrutiny will be hours of sleep and class performance. The central point of an investigation will be to find if the number of sleep hours had an impact on the performance of students. The following will be the formulation of the hypothesis;

– A number of sleep hours affected student performance in class.

– Number of sleep hours doesn’t affect the performance of students

Review of Literature

Quantitative statistical analysis is widely used in many scientific fields. It includes the collection, interpretation and analyzing to draw scientifically informed conclusions. The essence of these conclusions is to aid in decision making. The paper shall exploit all those and other parameters to reach conclusions and exploited in detail the conclusions.

Conclusion.

Statistical Analysis is a very essential knowledge in today’s world that revolves around quantitative things that need an analysis. Many statisticians before have been extremely useful in providing their services to solve numerous problems or to make numerous decisions. The future equally depends on the knowledge of experts in that field to continue meeting the demand for statistical analysis.
