Guided Response: You will respond to your classmates who gave you feedback on your draft post.  In addition, post to two classmates on their draft, using the  checklist on peer review/feedback  to guide your critique.  To ensure that everyone receives peer feedback, respond to classmates posts who have no or only one response.  Be sure to focus on the thesis statement, topic sentences and paragraphs, research integration, fallacies, and the conclusion.  Your initial posts to your classmates should be a minimum of 300-words.

What I plan on doing with my degree after I graduate would be to open my own childcare facility. This has been my dream since I began having my own children. I would like it to be a Montessori type of center we don’t have many out here where I live. I like the concept of children being able to build their own instruments and thing like that. It will help with their developmental process. I am really reaching for my center to be diverse. We will have space for all children no matter the race, culture or disability. My goal is to make all the children feel welcome and ready to learn. I really believe that owning my own center will be a wonderful idea because I really have the passion for teaching and building a safe, loving, caring, educational environment for them. I admire how children feed off of their environment so if they feel safe where they are going they will have no problem wanting to come back to learn every day. I am real big on education especially with my own children. So with that being said when children reach my facility even though they are not my birth children, when they enter the child care environment they should be able to feel loved and welcome. They should be able to talk to you and get to know you as well as you are getting to know them. I see this type of business as a family away from your actually family. I love to push my children and student to dream big and if they work hard they can be anything they want. So with that being said the educational would and business concept of it is really where I need to be.

My theoretical perspective on teaching and learning is that in education the rules, procedure, methods and standards frequently change as time goes on. So with that being said the way you teach and learn information changes as well. There are always new information to gather so you may have to find different ways to keep track of them may it be keeping notes, binders, email things of that nature. When it comes to my teaching methods I don’t normally go by the book all the time. I go off the energy of my students to me they bring out the best in teachers.

Why is education important? Education is the key to life as I learn growing up. Teaching children young and being involved in their learning process will help them move forward in their developmental process. Education is not always pin and paper and listening to the teacher. When we are dealing with infant through the age of 5, when help them understand that learning is through play. Not only play but learning is very hands on and can be fun. FUN is the key when you think of education and children, you want to do things that will catch their attention and make they want to learn. Have them involved and let them give ideas. Children love to get involved and feel like their voice is being heard. Of course as a parent and teacher I always say education starts at home. We have to get more involved in our children’s learning even if you have to find a tutor to help you help them. They is no reason that a parent can’t get involved in the development of their child’s education.

There are many different profession developments that I would need because not only am I still going to be a teacher I am also opening up my own center as well. Even though I will be working in my own center. In the state of Pennsylvania you need to first find a suitable location that can hold a certain amount of children and staff. After that I have to get it check by the fire department, L and I. Followed by getting my EIN number to register the building. Once all the important stuff is done me and all my staff have to get all our clearances which are the FBI, Child abuse, background checks, health assessment and ppd. I would also need my CPR and first aid certification, fire safety certification, my degree and or CDA, mandate reporter certification. I can also continue for my masters if I want or my teacher degree if I want to actually work in the school with the older children.

The standards that are used in the childcare field comes in to play when we are doing our lesson plans. My favorite standards are Language and Literacy Development-English and Language Arts (1.1-1.5), Approaches to Learning through Play- Constructing, Organizing, and Applying Knowledge (AL.1-AL.4), and Creative Thinking and Expression- Communicating through Arts(9.1M-9.4). These are some standard that help the growth and development of our children. They improve their imagination help them learn how to get alone with their peer. Helps the children use them thinking and remembering skills as well to see how well the children gather and keep information. Language and Literacy helps with the writing, reading, speaking and listening skills. Each standard help build strengths the children need to develop in other areas of education.
