RWT exercise 18 (double credit, x2—cannot be dropped as lowest score)
Research argument draft and works cited, plus conference
To receive your points, you must do the following things:
· Write the type of argument you are doing at the top of the draft
· Underline your thesis statement and number your criterion or qualifying statements (good reasons) in the introduction
· You are also REQUIRED to turn in copies of two sources that you paraphrased (not quoted or summarized) for your paper. You'll only need the pages where you drew material from (not a whole 20-page source, in other words). I'll have you highlight and number a source "A" and then highlight and number that passage "A" in the paper. The same with "B." I cannot give an estimated grade without this—I have to check your paraphrasing
· Sign up for a conference time, show up for your conference on time, and bring a copy of the exact same paper and works cited you turned in to me
· Be prepared to take notes on your copy
If you do not turn in a draft and works cited page on June 6, here’s what you need to do:
· Finish one by the following day
· Place it in my mailbox (after following all of the instructions above and including everything needed) before 3 p.m. June 7
· Email me with your class and section in the subject line to tell me it’s in my mailbox
I will respond with a conference time if there is one open—if there isn’t, I will suggest office hours or a possible appointment the following week
