I have chosen to let my random act of kindness be the following:
Today on my lunch break, I stopped at the China Garden. A Chinese take-out. After placing my order 2 young boys aged 8-9 years old stopped in to buy eggrolls. One for each of them. When it came time to pay, they realized they did not have enough money to pay for the 2 eggrolls. The owner of the restaurant in her heavy accent told them “ No money, no eggroll. I saw the boys look saddened and I can imagine how hungry they must have been because my stomach was growling from the sweet smell of Asian infused dishes. I gladly stepped up to the counter and offered to pay for the full amount of the eggrolls and also, offered the boys a can of soda. They looked astonished and amazed at the fact that they would be able to eat the eggrolls they so craved. Actually, they were even happier at the fact that they got to keep the money they originally intended to spend. This made me happy and was my act of kindness for the day.
Intoduction:
Talk about the topic “random acts of kindness”. How not enough people today actually go out of their way to help someone. Make the intro interesting to grab the reader’s attention. Ask a question if possible to spark the readers curiosity to continue reading. Last 2 sentences must be a thesis statement (a general idea or opinion of the writer (me) about how random acts of kindness can motivate others to pay it forward thus making the world a happier place if we all did it.
Body 1:
Explain how I craved to eat Chinese food today for lunch and the outside smell of the Chinese take-out lead me into the restaurant, China Garden. Describe the Chinese rest. As a small crowded place with the usual oriental décor. It was a hot day and it was even hotter inside, the cooks and counter lady were wiping sweat from their faces. Describe my hunger and the 2 boys that I noticed coming into the rest while I waited for my meal to be prepared. Describe them a little.
Body 2:
Talk about the disappointment when it came time for them to pay for their eggrolls. What the counter lady told them and how saddened they appeared to be. Describe my hunger and how I empathized with the 2 boys and how they must have been feeling. Talk about my random act of kindness (paying for the eggrolls and offering sodas). How they reacted and how they were happy that they got more than bargained for. Be descriptive but do not over exaggerate,
Conclusion:
Wrap it all up!! Talk about how the random act of kindness made me feel and why I would like to continue to do this again. How others can pay it forward and how it could be beneficial to us all.
