Differences Bbetween Tterrorism and Oorganized Ccrimes.
Terrorism refers to use of violence by a group of people so as to achieve a particular aim, which can be a political, ideological or religious objective. Organized crime relates to the groupings of highly organized criminal individuals so as to engage in illegal activities such as money laundering and drug trafficking. The main similarity between terrorism and organized crimes is that they both breach the rule of law. Their activities are also endangering the security of a nation and its citizens as it involves killing of people and other negative implications such as kidnapping. The differences is that for organized crimes group to succeed, they must be made up of extensive networks involving several individuals and professionals so as to enable their operations to run smoothly. On the other hand, the terrorist doesn't require extensive networks in order to propagate their actions. Organized criminals can also engage in activities that are carried out by terrorists. Terrorist, on the other hand, can get involved in the activities of organized crimes. Their aims are different, and these objectives can have different effects on them (Livingstone, 1982).
Possible Tterrorist Aattacks.
Terror attacks and threats are very rampant in America and its allies. The major security threat is al Qaeda and other Islamic militants like IS. These terror groups cause a lot of security challenges to American citizens and friends. Other organized groups that threatened the security include drug traffickers from Mexico. Symbol of al Qaeda is a flag with a gray image on the right side, and its background is a black rifle, fist, and Quran with a flag appear on top of this picture. Beneath there are Arabic writings translated into "monotheism and jihad". In this case, the identified terror group is al Qaeda, and they intend to attack Chicago and other cities in the US.
The terrorist group, in this case, is al-Qaeda, and its intention is to attack a major metropolitan city in America. This terrorist group is believed to be funded by Russian mafia group, and they intend to infiltrate some cells in Chicago and cause terror in the city. Their major aim is thought to be that they want to displace a major syndicate in the city. The geographical location of these criminals is Chicago city where they are believed to be hiding where Russian organized criminals want to take over illegal business carried out in the city such as gambling and prostitution. This terror group is under the command of their leader Alwani Abu Rayan, also known as Roberto Martinez. The number of individuals involved is believed to be around 12 in each cell made up of different nationalities including an American citizen.
Their major mode of communication is through the phone. This is either by text messages or phone calls. Therefore disabling this medium will weaken the group and thus preventing their plans. The O'Hare and Midway International Airports, the McCormick Place Convention Center, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago are possible locations aimed by this terrorist. Ensuring that these areas are under great surveillance of the terrorist group, and this can help eliminate the threat of these criminals.
Organized Ccriminals
The organized criminal group in this context is the Russian mafia. This group wants to infiltrate Chicago and control the drug trafficking business as well as prostitution and money laundering activities in the city. The relationship between this group and al Qaeda is that it tends to make way for al Qaeda to enter Chicago and thus perpetuate their terrorism activities. The mode of communications used by this OC is text messages as well as phone calls and therefore disabling or interrupting such communication will help weaken the terror group. The OC and this team is also believed to get some aids from Russian federal service. This organized group is less aware of their relationship with the terrorist group and their implications in need to take control of money laundering and prostitution. The main aim of the Russian OC is to control the prostitution and drug trafficking market as well as getting rid of a local group in the city. To get this group under control, the security forces have to ensure that there are no loopholes to allow drugs entry to the United States. This will, therefore, weaken their operations as this is the major source of their finances (Bullock, Clarke, & Tilley, 2010).
Identification of tThreats
The major threats caused by the terror group are killing of innocent citizens as they intend to cause mass destruction in the city. Their major targets are public places with very people and thus mass killing. The several deaths reported in the city is also believed to be the works of the organized crimes as the style people are kill resembles how they carry out their executions. Nuclear devices from Ukraine are thought to have been transferred between the Russian organized crime and al Qaeda. These nuclear devices are the ones to be used to carry out the attack by the terror group. CIA also identified that the al Qaeda terrorist are in possession of canister cans, and this is intended to be used for the attack. Therefore, these weapons are most likely be the ones to be used to propagate the terrorist group .the target time of the group is expected to be between 1st June and 6th July 2016. The consequences of this attack will be killing of people as well as destructions of other properties. It is, therefore, necessary to prevent the occurrence of such an event (Alexander, 2010).
Operation pPlan in Countering of the Tterrorist
To have an effective operation plan, FBI has to provide adequate information about the terror group and their specific locations. Investigations also have to analyze well so as to know the most probable targets as well as well as the time of the goal. This will aid the other forces in carrying out the operation. The homeland securities, on the other hand, are to provide adequate surveillance in the neighborhood of Chicago. The group is to be divided into groups of five each and thus carry out the patrol in the city. Delta one and delta two are to be tasked with breaking down into the cells that the terrorists are believed to be hiding so as to destroy their groupings within the city and other parts of the town. Department of Defense should also ensure that country entry points are well secured so as to limit entry of terrorist and lethal weapons. Local security providers are also to be tasked with total security Providence to the citizens. These operations have to be carried throughout the month of June and July so as to diffuse the risk.
To counter the terrorist. Therefore, great intelligence operations have to be done. Surveillance in the countries entry points should also be greatly improved. This is to prevent the entry of this terror groups as well as the entry of drugs from the Mexican border. High tech and sophisticated security checks should be specifically carried out in the Mexican border so as to cut off the drugs supply, which is the major source of finances. Prostitution business should also be regulated so as to weaken the OC network and its financial strengths. Communication between the terror members should also be physically challenged so as to break down their plans. This will, therefore, help to counter the terrorism, also, to upgrade security in the country (Henderson, 2001). Comment by Loux, Matt D. (OIG): Incomplete sentence.
