Final Portfolio

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY – the portfolio is worth 10% of your grade.

Review your three major essays for this course. Revise as you feel is best to present the best possible version of each. Print one simple, clean (typing error-free) copy of each, making sure that you have a proper header and format. See assignment sheets under CONTENT for each if you are unclear about this. Make sure you have 1-inch margins on all papers.

Assemble all 4 of the following for your portfolio:

- The 3 major essays (no annotated bib required in this compilation)

- Food Log

- Final Food Log essay (written in the exam period OR composed/typed in advance and delivered on exam day; the prompt will be posted on Friday, April 29th)

- Cover letter*

Write a cover letter and put it in the front of your portfolio. *The cover letter should have a proper greeting (please be sure to address me as Professor Adel, and spell my name correctly) and closing. Write the letter as you would any formal correspondence.

(easy sample format here: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/653/2/).

The letter is an introduction to your portfolio. You may include such things as if and how you revised each essay, how easy/difficult each was in comparison to the others, whether you have any particular insights as you look back on the earlier essays, where you stand as a college writer today, or anything else you would like to say to introduce your portfolio. You do not need to be overly fancy in your letter – just introduce the portfolio!

Put all four items into a folder and bring this folder to me on exam day.

The final exam schedule can be found by typing “Spring 2016 final exam schedule” into the search box on the TSU website.
