Temp to Perm Policy
Question One
Some of the disadvantages of temp to perm policy is that the company will incur a lot of resources for training because the more temporary people hired means more people need to be trained. The company safety risk will increase because most the temporary employees are not familiar with the workplace environment. The company would not have an effective teamwork because the temporary employees do not have time to integrate with the permanent ones. There are certain regulations that need to be followed while hiring temporary employees and if they are not followed you could be sued.
Question Two
Advantages of working under Temp to perm policy is that you can earn as you look for a permanent job. It also helps one to develop a good network by working for various companies you can share with other individuals who have same career interests as you. Working under temporary also gives you an opportunity to develop your resume because you will include the experience you acquire in the resume.
Disadvantages include lower pay than permanently employed individuals. Sometimes some companies do not give benefits to temporarily employed workers. Some workers many not recognise you as part of the company you are working with because you are not part of the company and thus end up feeling like an outcast. Sometimes permanent employees file blames to the temporarily employed individuals.
Question Three
Managers many encounter some challenges which include problems with employee morale and relationships. If permanent and temporary employees are hired to do the same job they may not get along well because they get different benefits and payment from the company.
For strictly temporary hiring the workers would not do not have the morale to work and thus low productivity because they know after all they may not have an opportunity for a permanent job. For temp to perm basis, the workers would work to best of their ability and thus increased productivity because they know they may get an opportunity for a permanent job.
