Eboni: I think I have made a decision about my pregnancy but I don’t know how to tell my parents and my boyfriend. |
Example: Social worker smiles and gestures for Eboni to sit down in the empty chair across from the social worker’s desk.

I see you have decided to were you head and body covering in public after all. |
“I did it to please Faruq., He says he’s tired of living like western infidel. And that our women still need to act like Shiit women, |
Client Strengths |
The decision is up to you, but didn’t you say that you were going to dress like the liberated American Muslim women? Maybe I did not understand what you meant. |
Looking up, Kadijah says, “No that’s correct. I believe I can honor the Quran and still be strong American women.” |
Individual Aspects |
Everything has been going so well with you, Faruq is not beating you again, is he? |
“No nothing like that, although I fear… I’m doing this for our daughter Aisha.” |
Oh, your Dressing like this for your daughter Aiesha…I don’t understand? Can you help to understand more? |
“Faruq says she’s acting like one these fast American girls and does not want her to get pregant.” “Faruq wants Aisha to be circumsized!” |
I’m not sure that’s even legal in this state. I can find out for you and refer you both to someone who can help in the mean time. |
“Aisha declares her father does not have to worry about her getting pregnant. Circumssion not the problem anyway.” |
