RWT exercise 5 (x2—double credit, 8 points)

Due at the beginning of class Tuesday, May 17, in hardcopy.

Now, please write a “discovery draft” of your paper here, entirely in your own words, without consulting any sources. In other words, after writing an intro (see video posted today) that includes your stance and criteria, plug your topic into each criterion (you should have 3-4) and go through the process of explaining how it fits each one. This is your chance to explain your opinion. Be specific, give examples, and go into as much detail as you can without sources. Per criterion, let’s shoot for 150 words, so this exercise should be 450-600 words. Remember, this is effort based, only.

For example, if I am evaluating Chipotle as a restaurant with a target audience of families with kids, and one of my criterion is “atmosphere,” I would write in detail about the noise, the seating, safety, and other things, showing my readers specific examples, details, etc.

And if I am evaluating a horror film like House of 1000 Corpses as potential “Oscar-worthy art,” and one criterion is that it “represents the true depths of human evil,” I will explain and then show examples of how it represents this beyond any sensationalism.

You do not have to write a conclusion.
