ADVERTISEMENT
The Public Service Board of Machakos County wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the
following vacant positions as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 Chapter 11 Section 235 and the County
Government Act 2012 Sections 45, 50 and 51.
1. GENERAL CLERK-REVENUE SERVICES (300) POST-JOB GROUP F REF: MKS/CPSB/2015/62
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prompt collection and accounting of all revenue to the County Government within area of jurisdiction;
Preparation and submission of daily/weekly and monthly revenue collection reports to the Senior
Revenue Officer
Responsible for making sure that all the revenue collected are banked intact and promptly.
Identifying new sources of revenue for the County;
Implementing the established revenue procedures
Reporting on the level of compliance with revenue laws and regulations;
Taking appropriate action in dealing with offenses including clamping, impounding, reporting etc;
Custodian and accountable of all official revenue documents in the locality.
Any other duties assigned by the Sub County Senior Revenue Officer.
Requirement for appointment:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D plain or its approved equivalents,
Proficiency in computer applications.
Self-starter, excellent team player, effective communicator and must be able to work with minimal
supervision
Must be a person of high integrity and have an excellent understanding of the requirement of Chapter six of
the constitution
Casual staff serving in the revenue collection unit are required to apply
Salary and Remuneration: JOB GROUP F
Basic Salary: Kshs. 12,510 p.m.
House Allowance Kshs. 3,500 p.m.
Commuter Allowance Kshs. 3,000 p.m.
Terms of Service: Three (3) year contract.

c) Certificate of good conduct from the CID
i. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter (6) Six of the Constitution.
ii. Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in Articles (10) and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
