Target Market

· Children-based to create unity between all children and portray that it is possible to have fun regardless of the differences in health.

· Families who have sick children in order to demonstrate that they are not struggling alone.

Product/ Service

· We are excited to team up with Toys R Us to bring forward positive unity with children of all origins sick or healthy to bring down any false assumptions about each other. Ex. “Sick” kids can’t be around “healthy” kids.

· Buy a toy from Toys R Us, they donate one to Anne and Robert Lurie Hospital children.

Competition

· Toys for Tots- Not only are we teaming up with Toys R Us to donate a toy when a toy is purchased in store, but we are hosting an event where we physically bring together kids of all ages, gender, race, capabilities, and disabilities to promote how kids are more alike than they think.

The overall business strategy

· Sickness doesn’t define these children. They are have bubbly personalities of their own. They love to laugh and play just as much as these “healthy” kids do. Bringing all children together in such an imaginative and playful event will tear down any stereotypes of “sick” being all that different.

Market strategies

· Public Transit will display advertisements of the yearly event to encourage families to come to the event, or even make a run to Toys R Us to not only buy a toy for their own children, but also receive the opportunity to simultaneously give a toy to another children at Anne Lurie Children’s Hospital.

· To partner up with Toys R Us in a “buy one, give one” business strategy. By doing this, Toys R Us will receive benefits such as higher customer volume in their stores and demonstrate their willingness as a company to help create social change for children and their families.

· When individuals attend the event, our hashtag #UnitedChildrenOfChicago or #UCC will promote our event on social media and portray how fun-filled the weekend is with all of the activities to choose from. With Navy Pier being the location, it will be even more mesmerizing for people around the country to want to attend not only for Navy Pier but with the bonus of a fun fair.

· We will be making a Facebook page, where we will continue to promote and welcome families to our 3-day weekend event. In our Facebook page families can share their children’s stories of adversities. Each child has a story, sick or healthy. Parents should have the platform to be able to exhibit their children’s struggles and triumphs. Upon liking the page the event will gain all the more following and awareness to keep on maximizing the participants as our event annually continues to grow.

· Reach out to individual “Mommy Bloggers” to help promote even further this event. In order to have them come to our event we will grant them free access to the event. In return we ask them to write an article about the event and their true feelings regardless of whether they had a good time or not.

Marketing Goals

· To attract all types of families in a gathering that focuses outside of their homes and promotes unity regardless of background.
