Audit for measuring program effectiveness

Title:

Audit for measuring program effectiveness

Objectives:

a) To measure the effectiveness of the program under the categories of management, operational, and status.

Scope:

There are various activities that will be audited so as to determine the effectiveness of the safety program within the warehouse. These activities focus on various aspects of the program which include the operations, management and status. This entire audit process aims at the determination of how effective the program is and whether there is anything that needs to be done so as to make improvements on the program.

Findings:

The management part of the audit aims at evaluating the organization with focus being on the program. This involved an analysis of the policies, goals, plans, weakness and operation function of the organization. The audit reveals that the management has managed to achieve the goal of ensuring safety within the workplace through the safety procedures that have been put in place. There is also effective administration of the safety objectives since the safety program has been fully implemented.

The operation audit is aimed at the improvement of the efficiency of the day-to-day operations of the program. The activities involved include an evaluation of the routine processes and procedures within the warehouse in order to determine the effectiveness of the program. The audit reveals that the employees are aware of the safety operational procedures. It also reveals that they carry out their activities following the safety procedures that have been put in place. For instance, the employees are always wearing personal protective equipment when they are going about their day to day activities within the warehouse. The findings also indicate that there are some aspects of operations within the work environment that pose a risk to the employees.

The status audit aims at the identification of the overall status of the program. The audit reveals that the program has been well implemented and that the employees are working in line with the requirements of the program. The audit reveals that there are some things that the program has not registered a success meaning that something needs to be done to improve them.

Recommendations:

The first recommendation would be for the management to put in more resources to the program. Any program requires adequate resources so that it can be effective. More resources will help in making the program more effective and hence become a success. The other recommendation would be training of employees on the requirements of the program. The employees have to be continuously trained and made aware of what the safety program entails. This will ensure that they are well conversant with what the program requires of them. The other recommendation would be an improvement on the program so as to incorporate the new risks that were identified during the audit process. This will make the program more effective when it comes to ensuring the safety of the workplace. The program is not fully effective hence the need to make some changes that will make it better and hence ensure a secure work environment.
