Research proposal

The subject of research is sociological imagination which is the value of the mind that puts down relations and distinctions between history and biography. The hypothesis of this research is to identify the differences between societies that have different levels of sociological imagination and those that do not have. It is expected that the research will turn out that those societies that have not had sociological imaginations or had and lost it are the societies that continue to suffer continuous social injustices, poverty and persecutions. It is also expected that the societies that have acquired sociological imagination and thrived on it have the most advanced cultures and freedoms. The communities that have no sociological imagination have experienced ruling regimes as the custom and people have lived in the same humble lock ups that have spate them for years.

The subject of sociological imagination is important to research since it is crucial for individual persons and societies in general to understand. It is imperative that people can recount the circumstances in which they live their day to day lives to the global, national and local community issues that affect them (Brewer, 2004). Without this capability of relating to the issues affecting them, people are not able to see these community issues that affect them and hence they are not able to determine if these problems need change to enhance their daily lives.

Data for this research will be gathered through the use of past literature. This will be used to study the communities that have been using sociological imagination and how it has helped and also know those who do not have sociological imagination and those that had it but lost it. Interviews will also be used where deemed as necessary to attain first-hand information on sociological imagination from the members of the society.
