***For every day this assignment is late, I will take off 10% of the assignment grade.***

Simulation: Suppose you inherited $5,000,000. In order to keep the money, you must do the following over the next 10 week period.

Assignment 2: Start buying on futures and options on margin in the $1,000,000 portfolio. Purchase AT LEAST 1 option and 1 future with the 5% cash portion of your random portfolio. Research and provide reasons why you invested in your chosen future and option. WRITE AT LEAST ONE PARAGRAPH per investment.

Assignment 3: Implement the Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) technique to your $1,000,000 portfolio. (See the definition below.) For the DCA technique, choose one penny stock (less than $5), or a stock selling for less than $10, and buy $100 worth each week for the remaining weeks of the simulation. Definition:

What Does Dollar-Cost Averaging - DCA Mean? The technique of buying a fixed dollar amount of a particular investment on a regular schedule, regardless of the share price . More shares are purchased when prices are low, and fewer shares are bought when prices are high. Also referred to as a "constant dollar plan".

Investopedia explains Dollar-Cost Averaging - DCA Eventually, the average cost per share of the security will become smaller and smaller. Dollar-cost averaging lessens the risk of investing a large amount in a single investment at the wrong time. For example, you decide to purchase $100 worth of XYZ each month for three months. In January, XYZ is worth $33, so you buy three shares. In February, XYZ is worth $25, so you buy four additional shares this time. Finally, in March, XYZ is worth $20, so you buy five shares. In total, you purchased 12 shares for an average price of approximately $25 each. In the U.K., it is known as "pound-cost averaging".

Assignment 4:

Return on Asset (ROA) is the indicator of how profitable a company is relative to its total assets. It tells us what earnings were generated from invested capital (assets).

The protective put, is a hedging strategy where the holder of a security buys a put to guard against a drop in the stock price of that security. We bought 500 Shears at Amazon Company and we gain profit by 12.93%. In this case we bought 1 protective put option to cover our Amazon profit.

A covered call is when the investor has a long position in an asset combined with a short position in a call option on the same underlying asset. A call writer may be required to deliver the stock if the buyer exercises his option. An investor will write a call option when he feels that a particular stock's price will not rise above a certain level. For this case we have bought 2,106 shears at Novartis Company and we are losing by 3.50%. In this situation we bought 1 covered call option for Novartis Company.

Assignment 5:

Index fund

Dreyfus S&P 500 Index Fund is an open-end fund incorporated in the USA. The Fund's objective is to match the performance of the Standard & Poor's 500 Composite Stock Price Index. The Fund invests in the stocks that compose the Index and in stock-index futures. The fund has returned -1.15 percent over the past year, 10.75 percent over the past three years, 10.38 percent over the past five years, and 6.00 percent over the past decade

Mutual fund

The long-term track record for FCNTX is among the best in the mutual fund industry. The lifetime return since inception for Fidelity Contrafund is an incredible 12.5%. Under Danoff’s tenure, the 15-year annualized return of 8% crushes the S&P 500’s 4.9%, and FCNTX beats 99% of large-growth stock funds. The 10-year return ranks ahead of 87% of category peers.
