Question: Using at least four different individuals with at least one individual from each of the following four historical periods:

1) the ancient world (Egypt through the Roman Empire); 2) the Middle Ages; 3) the early modern era (Renaissance through the Enlightenment, 1400s to

late 1700s); and 4) the modern era (French Revolution to the twentieth century)

draft an essay in which you present the individuals who you believe had the greatest influence on the development of medicine in the Western world, and the historical period which you believe was the most important in the development of medical science and medical practice. Single-space your essay response and write on both sides of the page in the exam booklet. Be sure to write your name and student number on the cover.
