FINAL RESPONSE PROJECT Humanities I

Purpose: This is a creative project designed to provide each student a reflective opportunity to collect and present specific individual influences and interests discovered in Humanities II.

What is a response? A response is a reaction to a particular piece of literature, artwork, music composition, presentation or philosophical idea. This reaction can be either positive or negative. You must select the following number of responses to complete your project. (There will be 15 responses in total. Five from EACH book!)

What should you include in your response? Help us understand what you like/dislike about any of the pieces you have encountered in Humanities I.

• A brief summary of what you've chosen to respond to for the assignment. • Why you responded to it. • What insight does this piece tell you about the nature of human beings and their interactions?

How can you organize your response?

Get creative!!!!!

PowerPoint ----include pictures, thoughts, music, etc.

Essay----write an essay illustrating all of your responses including pictures for added interest.

Be reminded about copyright rules! If you borrow a picture or include a selection of music in your response, note the original source next to the selection. Typically, permission from the author or artist is always required prior to any publication in any format. Because this assignment is designed for educational purposes, consideration for borrowing materials to demonstrate knowledge is an accepted format for use of these art works in many cases. Materials published prior to 1979 are considered to be in Public Domain and allowable for publication, unless otherwise noted. However, it is advisable to cite anything questionable if publishing a personal blog or in any project for your best protection.

Make sure you view the rubric in the syllabus. Each response needs to be at bare minimum 175 words in length.

Final Advice: Waiting until the last minute to complete this assignment will be very difficult to accomplish effectively.
