Instructions
This project requires that students work with the VirtualBox installation of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard 64-bit that was developed in Project 1.
I. Hackerstorm Open Source Vulnerability Database (OSVDB)
On the VirtualBox installation of the Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 Standard 64-bit server, perform the steps outlined in ‘Exercise 2-1: Researching Vulnerabilities’ on Page 40 of the CEH Certified Ethical Hacker Bundle (2nd ed.) course book.
II. Demonstrate DNS Attack Results
On the VirtualBox installation of the Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 Standard 64-bit server, perform the steps outlined in ‘Exercise 2-3: Demonstrating DNS Attack Results’ on Page 53 of the CEH Certified Ethical Hacker Bundle (2nd ed.) course book.
III. Using A Ping Sweep Tool
On the VirtualBox installation of the Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 Standard 64-bit server, perform the steps outlined in ‘Exercise 3-1: Using a Ping Sweep Tool’ on Page 88 of the CEH Certified Ethical Hacker Bundle (2nd ed.) course book.
IV. Validation
In a Microsoft Word document:
· Part I: In a Microsoft Word document, paste screenshots of the Hackerstorm OSVDB Search Screen listing the most recently released database vulnerabilities for Mozilla.
· Part III: In a Microsoft Word document, paste screenshots validating that your browser redirects the www.google.com URL to Yahoo!’s search engine. In addition, attach a copy of the edited host file to your assignment submission.
· Part IV: In a Microsoft Word document, paste screenshots of the Nmap Output section of the Zenmap application.
Submit this assignment by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of Module/Week 4.
