STRATEGIC PLANNING AND BUSINESS PLAN

Ascertain the importance of strategic planning for an organization.

Strategic planning forms an essential tool in an organization, since it guides the decisions, evaluates and assesses the progress made by the organization(Devra, 2014). In an organization, a strategic plan provides an outline of the realistic goals and it quantifies the benchmark required for the provision of the best results.

Suggest one (1) strategy you may use to structure the strategic planning session for a not-for-profit mid-sized health organization that is competing with several for-profit facilities in the area.

One of the best strategies I would employ the development of a structure for a non-profitable organization is the establishment of a robust empowering planning committee that would effectively assess the organization’s strength and weaknesses and deduce effective measures to grasp external opportunities and deal with the organizational challenges. This will facilitates the development of an organization with proper planning and functionality hence higher performance in relation to the competing profitable organizations(Allison, 1997).

Determine your approach to communicate the mission, vision, and value statements for the strategic planning. Provide a rationale for your response.

In an organization, the mission, vision and value statements prove to be vital, since they provide guidance on the sole purpose of the organization. In order to communicate the mission, vision and value statements for strategic planning it is important for the organization to develop follow up plans that orient the employees towards the action plans(Devra, 2014). This facilitates the review and implementation of the organizational goals before they are assessed against the organizational vision, mission and value statements.

Recommend three (3) best practices of business plan creation and support your response.

A business plan is established to be a guide that provides an outlines of goals to be achieved and a means of attaining them. In developing a business plan, people form the most essential part since they are responsible for the creation and maintenance of the business(Allison, 1997). Secondly, it is important to identify the key infrastructure that can be employed for effective performance of the business. Thirdly, it is important to consider the processes involved in the development and establishment of the business. This includes the operational and production processes. People, processes and infrastructure form the three most essential elements in the development of a business plan.
