bibliography about world population change
Final
Choose a topic of your choice (likely to be the same as your Midterm Research Summary) to focus a research project on--preferably something that you're interested in and that you can relate to the course in some way. Follow the specific instructions below, and feel free to ask questions if you don't understand the assignment.
Components of the bibliography: (25% total)
(1) Introduction: 5%
Introduce your topic, describe the major/relevant issues and identify your research questions:
Briefly explain your motivation for choosing this particular subject and provide a few framing questions used to guide your research. In other words, what is your topic and what questions were you hoping to answer?
(2) Annotated Section: 8 - 10 sources total, 15%
List the source (author, date, title, journal, publisher, and URL if its a website), then answer the following questions:
• What is the source about, or what is the author’s point?
• How does this source contribute to your research?
(3) Interpretation: 5%
Finally, summarize what all of these sources says about your topic. Try to use examples, analogies, etc. directed at these questions:
• Having completed your research, what have you learned?
• What does what you’ve learned have to do with themes, concepts or issues we’ve covered in class?
• What claims can you make about your topic and issues of Population Geography more generally?
Details: There is no page limit, but you should have at least 8 sources and less than 12 to be both effective and concise. Do your best to address each component or question above. Sloppy grammar, spelling, and thinking detract from your total score.
