Paired Samples t-test
Outsourcing serves as a primary source of valuable seeds used by local Alaskan Farmers to yield crops able to thrive in a unique Alaskan climate. Company A is a business located in Alaska that successfully buys these distinct types of seeds from throughout the country to make them available to sell to the local farmers. In the Week 2 Business Research Project Part 1 Assignment Learning Team A decided to study if it is more beneficial to grow seeds for use in the Alaskan climate than to purchase them from current sources.
Research Question
Research Question: Is it more beneficial to grow seeds for use in Alaskan climate than to purchase them from current sources?
Inferential Statistics (Hypothesis) Test
Null hypothesis: It is not more beneficial to grow seeds for use in Alaskan climate than to purchase them from current sources.
Alternative hypothesis: It is more beneficial to grow seeds for use in Alaskan climate than to purchase them from current sources.
It would be appropriate to conduct a paired sample t-test. Learning Team A conducted a paired sample t-test in Excel. The results were significant, t (384) =-47.44, p< .05. The null hypothesis was rejected, and we conclude that it would be more beneficial to grow seeds for use in Alaskan climate than to purchase them from current sources.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Company A wanted to see which would be more beneficial growing seeds for use in the Alaskan climate or outsourcing them. Based on the sample t-test, it is more beneficial to grow seeds for use in the Alaskan climate.
