Investment Research Assignment

Rules & Logistics

If you want to get a passing grade on this assignment, please read this

  • The assignment is due by 12:01 pm on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016. No exceptions. You will lose points for each minute it is late.

  • You may email your completed assignment to me if you are worried about it being late, in addition to bringing a copy to class. If you do this, send it as one single .pdf file. Do not send a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet; do not send multiple files.

    • You can copy Excel tables into Word and then Save As a .pdf file within Word.

  • You should also submit your assignment to the Dropbox on D2L.

    • Go to Course Content. Under the Activities tab, click on Dropbox

    • There should be just one folder: “Investment Research Assignment”

    • Submit your assignment to the Dropbox by 11:59 am on March 9th, 2016

  • Please follow the format guidelines on the assignment

    • 12-point font, 1-inch margins, double-spacing

    • 3 pages of text, 2 pages of tables and exhibits

      • Feel free to embed tables and exhibits within the body of the paper/text if it helps the flow or argument.

    • Please provide a cover page with your name and your company’s name on it.

    • Please do not use any fancy binding or anything; please just use one simple staple in the top-left corner

  • On Wednesday March 9th 2016, we will talk about the assignments through presentations. These will be very short, 1-3 minute discussions of your company and analysis.

    • These will be random, possibly by individual, possibly by company. Not everyone will present, but everyone should be prepared to talk about their analysis.

    • Send me 1-2 PowerPoint slides (not more than 2) by 6:00am on Wednesday March 9th, 2016 that provide the presentation you want to give in 1-3 minutes. Imagine that you are an investment advisor; the slides should capture your recommendation of what to invest in and why. Keep it short, simple and to the point.

  • And, if you have any questions, please let me know.
