Structure
· My paper has a clear introduction, body and conclusion.
· The paper has two or three paragraphs that are generally 2 4 sentences in length. 5 sentences max per paragraph.
· The paper is less than one page.
· The paper follows an appropriate thank you letter format.
· My file is in Microsoft Word .docx format, uncompressed.
Introduction
· The introduction identifies the occasion of meeting and the reason for thanking the recipient.
· The introduction is brief and positive.
Body
· The body adds detail to the occasion of meeting and the reason for thanking the recipient.
· The material is sincere and authentic.
Conclusion
· This brief paragraph briefly repeats the thanks and leaves contact information if appropriate.
· No new material is introduced in the conclusion.

General Guidelines for Good Writing
· I have proofread my paper. I have read it aloud at least once.
· I have eliminated “vampire words” {quite, fairly, sometimes, often, may, things} unless they are absolutely necessary. (Use your word processor’s search tool. Unless you are writing a Dr. Seuss book, the word “thing” should not be in your writing.)
· I am consistent in my use of tense and voice (active, passive).
· I use active voice.
· My paper is less than a page long.
