Comparison and contrast_for PHYLLIS YOUNG ONLY
1. Comparison: Read the following poems from the syllabus: "That Time of Year Thou Mayst in Me Behold"; "The World is Too Much with Us"; "Leda and the Swan"; and "Yet Do I Marvel." What do all these works have in common? Be sure to look not just at content (what the poem is about) but also at form (how the poem is structured).
2. Contrast: Read the following poems from our syllabus: "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" and "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night." These poems are both about the same subject, death. How is death portrayed in each poem, and how are these poems different from each other?
Once again, do not do any research for this response! The objective is to work on reading critically. Read the poems multiple times, carefully, and express your own observations about them.
