POST ONE: WEBSITES FOR CAREER

For this first post, you are going to look at the internet to find websites related to your career choice.

I will post more about this, but we can begin now looking at websites because this is the topic of your first paper.  Your papers will be:

1.  Website analysis for career choice

2.  Rhetorical analysis of an article about your career choice

3.  Argument about an issue related to your career.

For this post, find three websites related to your career.  They will not be the same as the one you eventually choose to write on, but you need to start looking at the sites and see what they are saying in terms of an argument. 

First, give your career choice.  Next, find three websites related to that choice. Finally, state the argument that website is making.

Right now I don't expect  you to know how to find the argument, so we'll begin with the basics.  For instance, say you choose photography as your career.  Then this assignment might be:

Career:  Photography

1.  www.photographynow.com

This web page argues that photography is a way to keep society free. 

2.  www.photographyart.com

This web site argues that photography is an art, like painting or music, and that things like photoshop are the artists's tools.

3.  www.photobomb.com

This website view photography as a business for making as much money as possible and sees photographers as being in competition with each other.

This should not take long to do; you don't have to provide any details, and you don't have to "get it right" because  you have not yet been trained what to look for.  But it will be a good start for discussion we will work on leading up to the first paper.
