Introduction

Public policy and administration are an integral part of a country. The elected and appointed officials are faced with the dilemma of meeting the demands and at the same time using minimum financial resources. The government has discarded the system where public agencies were used to implement policies and at the same time deliver services. The government has opted to form partnerships with nonprofit organizations to ensure that policies are implemented and deliver services. The public and nonprofit administrators from different cultures must accept to integrate the culture of their counterparts for the partnership to be successful. Scholars that study in the fields of profit and nonprofit administration need to help in integrating these two cultures together. The aim of this paper is research ways in which the different organizational cultures can be integrated.

As a public or nonprofit administrator, what is your culture? What do you think of the counterpart’s culture? What do you think about you embracing the counterpart’s culture? Are you willing to put down your differences and work together with your counterparts?

I would test these questions at a personal level. I would justify these questions as they are intended to discover if these parties are ready to work together or not. This form of answering questions is appropriate as it leads it provides rich information. I would select phenomenology approach since it is a qualitative research and the methodology also will seek to understand the meaning of events and in human interactions. The theoretical perspective used will be phenomenology which is applied as it is a qualitative research. My position as a researcher would be to the try to achieve a sense of the significance that other people give to their situations. I also have a role in conducting the research in a good way to minimize errors and to come up with a good conclusion nor recommendation to the public and nonprofit administration. The target population is administrators either from public or nonprofit organizations. I would identify participants by doing extensive research on public administrators as well as nonprofit administrators who have been given the role of delivering services as well as implementing policies. The appropriate sample size would be contributed by the size of the population where the sample would be representative of the population. Appropriate research together with having the resources and time would ensure that the sample size is appropriate (Bazeley, 2013).

Research Designs and the Procedures

The qualitative study entails studying the social world using various approaches in research that are primary. Interviewing the participants will be one of the approaches that will be used in obtaining the data. The interview that will be conducted will start with unstructured questions. One of the unstructured questions that will be asked will be like the following. “What is your view regarding the public administration and policy?” The other questions that will be asked will be seeking clarification on various issues. In fact, the main issues that we will be seeking clarification are the view of the policies that will be implemented as well as how they feel in regards to the administration that is responsible for the implementations of the policies. The numbers of interviews that are anticipated to be conducted are likely to be thirty, and the research will also be accepting follow-up interviews. The follow-up interview will be seeking to clarify on some of the issues of the policy implementation that has been highlighted. The analysis of the data obtained will be conducted so as to gain further under the understanding of the research findings. The interviews that will be conducted will be recorded with a length of approximately thirty minutes each. The questions that will be asked during the interviews are informal and open-ended which will be carried out through the approach of conversational style (Auerbach, 2012).

Field notes will be required alongside the interview that will be conducted, observations, causal encounters with the subject of study, and follow-up interview. Memoranda will be written while hearing from the tapes that will be containing the recorded interviews, reflecting on the particular interviews as well as typing transcripts. I will also obtain additional data through the literature review, and some of the materials will be of help to the current research. All the analysis of the research will be conducted through a software program that will use coded data from the research. The codes from the software are supposed to be organized through various topics that are of interest to the study. Letters and numbers will designate the categories and the subcategories that are used in the research. The analysis of the data will be performed through the software is expected to be accurate. Further, there is a high likelihood that the software will offer some recommendation regarding the public administration and the policy implantation (Harding, 2013).

You have done a nice job with some of the important criteria for this assignment including the theoretical framework, methodology, and data analysis. However, there are others that will need to be addressed in the next papers. You included questions as research questions, but these are actually interview questions. Your research question is the BIG question you are trying to understand. You also need to include the important section about your role as a the researcher which is very different than how you will conduct the study. Review Creswell for this. Finally, proofread your work before submitting.
