Grading Rubric: Essay Grading Rubric (ATTACHED) (this document is use to grade the final copy of the essay - you are expected to review this rubric to meet the expectations for the unit assignment.

You will turn in the final copy of the argument essay through turnitin.com. I will grade your essay using the rubric (linked above) through turnitin.com. Remember, extensions are not available on the final copy - give yourself enough time to make the final revisions and submit your best work. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Notes:

• Please put your thesis statement in bold lettering.

• Follow APA formatting guidelines; include the title page, parenthetical citations, reference page

• Limit yourself to 1 "to be" verb per paragraph. The removal of the "to be" verbs will increase your word word choice and sentence fluency.

• Every source that is cited in your paper must be on the reference page; every source on the reference page must have parenthetical citations. ( No less than 5 sources)

• If you are having trouble finishing a section or correctly citing a source, please note that in the document so that your peer editing group can give you helpful feedback.

Grading: 200 pts total (review the rubric linked above for specifics in each area)

• Introduction - 10% (20pts)

• Analysis - 30% (60pts)

• Conclusion - 5% (10pts)

• Organization - 15% (30pts)

• Diction/Grammar - 10% (20pts)

• Documentation - 30% (60pts)
