1.

You make a great observation when you tell us "if certain political practices prove to work well in neighboring nations then through comparative analysis of governments a state may enhance its stability in the government and political practices."  In fact, your theory can be applied to a number of areas within our nation's polity.  For instance, consider the notion of " free education " at the 2-year, community college level, as currently espoused under the Obama Administration.  Such a stance is clearly derived from European politics where University education has been "free" for decades; though, not really free, as taxpayers pay a tremendous price for such benefits.  Other than cost, can you think of other variables, which when weighed, makes this option less attractive for America?

2.

In the way of family, as a defining feature of your political socialization, how much, if any, has your political perception changed since branching out on your own?  I've know many individuals, including myself, who have shifted their stance along the political spectrum upon leaving the familiarity of home.  Further, as an active duty member of the military, how has this experience affected your political preferences?
