My driving test day

I recall vividly the day I took the driving test at the traffic department. I was very nervous and anxious about the outcome of the tests. I had worked very hard for this day and could not afford to fail since I had been promised my own dream car if I passed. The day started well with the usual routine morning chores. I however took time to read the drivers manual carefully to make sure I understood all the road signs, turning points and other relevant information relating to driving.

At around 10 am, my father and I drove to the test center. Thoughts of how my friend will run to me for a ride in my vehicle made me smile like a cherry. This ride seemed short since I was soaked in my own fantasy world. I was awoken when the car came to a halt. I alighted and took an anxious journey to the office where was met by a huge mean looking officer who gave me a long look. I felt like a crushed grasshopper. However, I gathered confidence enough to offer niceties and walked towards dad vehicle, which was the test vehicle for me.

Once I was given a go ahead to start the test, I took a deep breath, looked forward at the road ahead and shrugged off all the fears on my shoulders. I was confident I would pass this since I had spent days in this same car with my dad practicing for this test. I ignited the engine and engaged the gears to the test. I confidently negotiated all the corners, was careful enough in the reversing and parking. The 45 minutes in the car with the instructor seemed to take ages until he finally told me to drive back to where we started. The result were so relieving since I had passed and would now be granted my license and my own vehicle and become one of motorist on the road. I learnt that with practice and confidence challenges are easily overcame
