Design
The one subject that comes into mind when asked about my area of interests is always design. The reason why I prefer design to other fields of study is because it has a unique artistic factor about that simply cannot be found in other subjects. It allows for individual expression and this ties every work to a person making it very valuable. As an individual, I am always appreciative of the aesthetical factors around me whether indoors or out I found beauty and simplicity in most of the objects, places and people I view every day and this is why I would be interested in design. The ability to add beauty or restructure to in any object is something I am deeply passionate about and I would suggest that most designers are. The other factor is that a designer is always met with a new task every day and this frees him from the monotony found in other professions, this makes the subject and career interesting.
John Grace of the Guardian emphasizes that both art and design are fields that should be reconsidered currently mainly because they offer a different career path. He argues that this field allows individuals to escape the mentality of job hunting and venture it the lives of creative. Callie Mavlik agrees to this and supports more students to study design due to the abundant opportunities present in the market. According to UC Creative the career of a designer is very flexible hence advantageous. Naldz Graphics urges young designers to join design firms, as there is a lot to learn in this field. Several articles also support the notion that a design degree is very beneficial in today’s market such as “Notes on design, SBI Campus blog, Prospects, and Graphic Design Degree Hub.”
