· Trudy Green works for the True-Green Lawn Company.  Her job is to solicit lawn-care business via the telephone.  Listed below are the number of appointments she made in each of the last 25 hours of calling.

Use the above data to do the following -- please use Excel and Megastat for this -- your text (particularly from Lind:  chapters 2 & 4) has great examples and instructions. See also the Week 2 example posted in the Course Materials Forum:

· develop a frequency distribution (use the "histogram" function in Excel - Megastat can also do this),

· use your frequency distribution to develop a bar or line graph (interpret your graph).  Be sure to carefully label your graph. 

· compute the mean, median, mode, variance and standard deviation using the tools in Excel's Data Analysis or Megastat.

discuss your graph and statistics - particularly mean, median, mode, standard deviation -- with your grandmother from Sudan, Texas (very small, West-Texas town -- she didn't take statistics

Use the data from the Trudy Green discussion item (Chapter 2 section) to develop a box plot and a dot plot.  Megastat has an option for both of these plots.  Be sure to briefly discuss what the two plots are "saying" to us
