This assignment has two parts, the first part is to respond to this (paragraph A) which is written by my classmate in Online discussion:

paragraph A:

"There was a discussion early on in class today about how different cultures might value human life differently. The linked video shows a rather shocking example of how uncaring people can be towards complete strangers, in which a girl is hit by a car and 18 people walk past her without making any attempt to help. We’ve certainly all experienced people pretending not to notice someone in need of help at one point or another, but do you think this level of indifference to ignore someone dying on the street is universal, or an isolated incident?

And to make it easier for you, below is an example of a respond to the previous paragraph (paragraph A) by another classmate:

"I think there is more going on here than a cultural dissonance in the amount of value given to a human life. The video of the Chinese girl being ignored by many passing by to me seems like a very sad case of the bystander effect (phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer any means of help to a victim when other people are present). This effect is shown among every culture in the world, for example in the US 37 people neighbors of a woman being stabbed to death did not do anything to assist, nor call the police. I think this video speaks more to problems of diffused responsibility than a cultural difference in the value of human life."

So as you can see in this respond, it's just a quick, easy and short respond. You just need to respond to (paragraph A) with your won words and opinions, also you can agree with the respond by the other classmate.

The second part of the assignment is the same of the first part (a paragraph needs your respond) but with another paragraph (paragraph B) which is written by another classmate:

paragraph B:

Cardinal Richelieu's famous line is:

If you give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest of men, I will find something in them which will hang him.

Some studies have shown that the average American commits 3 felonies a day....    https://books.google.com/books/about/Three_Felonies_a_Day.html?id=2xkDvMQlh-YC&hl=en

now are you sure you have nothing to hide?"

And to make it easier for you, below is an example of a respond to the previous paragraph (paragraph B) by another classmate:

"I do often think, government surveillance is okay because "I have nothing to hide," however, I wouldn't say I agree with the extent to which the government it watching our every move. I think this attitude comes from the feeling that nothing is going to change on this front. I think as our world becomes more technologically minded it becomes more necessary that the government head in that direction as well."

So as you see in this respond, it's just a quick, easy and short respond. You just need to respond to (paragraph B) with your won words and opinions.

At the end of this assignment, the length of what you wrote should be only less than a page of the two responses.

I hope that's clear to you, ask me for any further clarification.

Thanks
