This assignment has two parts, the first part is to respond to this (paragraph A) which is written by my classmate in Online discussion:

paragraph A:

"Haven't seen a post about Islamism and wanted to share this part of ch.6. "The most important social movement embodying this new vision of political Islam ( separation of religion and politics) was founded in Egypt by a schoolteacher named Hassan al Banna. In 1928 he established a group known as the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood sought to ensure a continued role for religion in society and saw itself as an antidote to the Westernizing and secularizing tendencies of the political elite." This movement was banned in the 1950's and forced underground where it became radicalized and changed significantly. This background information isn't often talked about in the news and leads to modern westerners wrongfully categorizing the entire Muslim world as non secular and incapable of understand political ideas separate from religion. Maybe understanding their ideas of "umma" and the culture as a whole could greatly help us cope with the radical groups and not perpetuate media bias."

And to make it easier for you, below is an example of a respond to the previous paragraph (paragraph A) by another classmate:

"I think this perfectly sums up the media's power and ability to persuade one's point of view.  Although we all have heard people say the stereotype that all Muslims are bad, that example from chapter 6 proves that this is not the case.  There will always be extremists and people who try to influence their ideas upon others, but that does not make the whole culture/group evil or bad.  Often times the media is the only idea we have of the Muslim world, and we all know that the media doesn't always offer complete information.  There are always two sides to a story, and the media does not always cover both sides."

So as you can see in this respond, it's just a quick, easy and short respond. You just need to respond to (paragraph A) with your won words and opinions, also you can agree with the respond by the other classmate.

----

The second part of the assignment is the same of the first part (a paragraph needs your respond) but with another paragraph (paragraph B) which is written by another classmate:

paragraph B:

"Based on what we read in the end of chapter 15 would you you say that Colonialism is gone for good? Has it transformed into Neo-colonialism? Or will it make a come back sometime in the future as many up and coming powers will be eager to show the world their strength?"

And to make it easier for you, below is an example of a respond to the previous paragraph (paragraph B) by another classmate:

"I agree neocolonialism will be in the future. The systems that were taught and instilled in these countries remain to this day. Things may change slightly to keep up with modern times however because of the systems remaining and the quest for power neocolonialism will exist."

So as you see in this respond, it's just a quick, easy and short respond. You just need to respond to (paragraph B) with your won words and opinions.

At the end of this assignment, the length of what you wrote should be only less than a page of the two responses.

I hope that's clear to you, ask me for any further clarification.

Thanks
