If our shoppers do not feel their sensitive information is safe then we will not earn their business. For this reason, we settled with many of our customers who suffered losses as a result of the 2013 data breach (you can review this article here: http://money.cnn.com/2015/03/19/technology/security/target-data- hack-settlement/). In an effort to avoid data and sensitive information breaches like the one that occurred in 2013 Target management has decided to make substantive changes to our policies. While you can review the entire list of professional policies on Target.com’s “Employee” tab, some highlights include:

• No customer should hand a Target employee their credit card under any circumstance. • Cashiers will now suspend a transaction and help their customer transfer intended

purchases to guest services should they want to open a line of credit. • Questions regarding the privacy policy of Target stores, the Target RedCard, or similar

information should be directed to a manager. • Cash, ApplePay, and other forms of electronic payment will now be listed as the

preferred method of payment due to their secure nature. The hope is that these changes have a significant impact on the security of our customer’s information.
