comment_on_two_classmates.docx

comment on two classmates' posts in around 75-150 words. You need to have at least one piece of advice in your feedback--what problems do you foresee them running into? How might they go about their research? What aspect of their topic do you find most interesting?

Classmate 1

TOPICS:

1-What it's like being an international student.

2- Being Muslim in America

I chose the topic "what its like being an international student" because I am obviously an international student and I feel like sometimes this draws a lot of controversy, and I also feel like sharing my story and why I am here like many other students may shine some light on the matter and open some minds. I also want to show people that it is actually not so bad and share some personal opinions on what could change to help new students. Some things I would like to learn are why some people are against international students, I also would like to get some insight on what we as foreigners could do to ease minds of people who are wary or unsure of welcoming new people.

Being Muslim in America I feel like now more than ever needs some looking at. With the upcoming presidential elections and some not so favorable remarks against Muslims, I feel like education is key. Also with the terrorist group Isis claiming Islam I would also like to touch base on that matter to show some real points and education so people can learn how Muslims really are and how Muslims really feel about non Muslims. I think that this topic could help a lot of people. Something I would like to learn in this topic is what people do actually know about Islam in America, or what are some fears people have so maybe the way I and my colleagues approach situations could be different.

Thinking on these two topics I had a tough decision as both of these topics are interesting to me. I think I will go with being Muslim in America. Because I would like to know more on what I can do to educate and spread positive awareness to people. To hopefully help contribute to overall peace in all religion groups, so people know Islam is for peace with everyone. I would also like to learn what people know or learn people's certain fears or questions they may have. I hope to help as many people I can to learn about Islam so what the media says is not so scary.

Brainstorming

The three topics I have in mind are emotional support animals (esa), psychology, and tech theatre.

The topics I am most likely to write about are emotional support animals and psychology, due to the deep personal connection they both have to me and they both can play into each other with the writings.

The reason for me wanting to write on emotional support animals is because my fiance and I have a dog that is an ESA. We got her mostly for my fiance for her anxiety that she sometimes has. I am wanting to learn more about them and how other people feel about ESAs. The benefits I see about these topic is the new understanding and learning the research can lead to. The drawback may be that there isn't enough information on the topic with it being so new and unfamiliar to so many. But the audience who reads this can have their questions answered and maybe even a new outlook on why ESAs are important for some people with mental disorders.

The second topic I want to write on is psychology. I am taking a psychology class and it has pecked my interest in a possible job or career choice. I am not sure what branch of psychology I would write about at the moment ,since there are so many, but maybe that's where writing a paper on it would help me find the path I would like to take. The audience might find a new understanding of psychology and realize that it's not what everyone thought. But the drawback for the audience might be to much information and a need to narrow down the search.

The topic I am most wanting to write about is the emotional support animals, because it is so new to the community and even to me in my own personal life. I realize there are lots of different questions about this topic the most famous one being, “why do people even need them?” But that is the most argumentative topic question that I want to try and avoid that question and answer. I am wanting to know is like, what metal disorders do these animals help with? What animals, besides dogs and cats, can be an ESA? Do the animals have to have special like service animals to be registered like service animals? Do different animals help with different mental disorders? How long does a person need an ESA, are they for life or only temporary?

I know these questions are broad but I can't decided which I want to answer. Feedback would be great on this.
