Home Depot Research Proposal
To define strategic planning is to understand the series of values, mission and objectives in a business (Pearce and Robinson, 2011). Strategic planning is a way for an organization to define the company’s strategy and with a strategy an approach, should identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats against the economy other companies and internal operations from the highest levels to the lowest in operations as well as service and employees. SWOT and PEST analysis are some ways to define strategic planning. Home Depot organizational vision, mission, and values statements with PEST and SWOT techniques are used and, this is best explained below. Thisese type of standard and direction will help the company focus on the people strategies and making sure companies are aligned with this plan.
PEST
Political: It is the local and international political developments and seeing how it will affect the company and in what ways are laws impacting decisions or eliminating opportunities?
Economic: Central economic issues are focused on both nationally and internationally that might affect the company and country standpoint?
Social: Developing social trends that may impact on how the organization operates and what changes for the future planning and what does the organization consider to be most important?
Technological: changing technology can impact on competitive advantage very quickly how can everyone be a part of futuristic IT.
SWOT
Strength: Projected supply chain management strategy which has the strength which uses the e-business and e-commerce process, which enables all information available to the supply chain.
Weakness: Weakness is within the super capabilities of other businesses as the concepts and ability to perform as well will take evolution so a business can suffer from postponement.
Opportunities: Creating a tactical decision as a support tool to assist in managing new projects in addition to the supply chain infrastructure.
Threats: A possible threat is inventorying getting progressively larger and moving backward through the supply chain. Organizations have demanding forecast and are about control, improvement and deviating through customer demands not supply chain management issues for instance.
Trends: Trends that will change is globalization enabling resources access, lean logistics or six sigma processes riding waste in the supply chain, the use of 3PLs and strategic roles corporate portfolios for logistics, and, maximize shareholder value through revitalized supply chains safety stock for new variation in supply chain
Some differences between strategic and financial planning are different roles, individual’s responsibilities, and details. Strategic planning is moving a company in the direction it desires and though finances are involved the focus is on what should be implemented. Some problems, a company may encounter when implementing a strategic plan are the responsibilities overlapping and sharing responsibilities that require a median. While the strategy may only implement a golden plan if the financial planning will allow resources be used and acquired through funding. If there are any risks of any kind that the plan and shared responsibilities at Home Depot do not occur then new sources and different planning will occur. “Effective May 16, 2012, The Home Depot (“Home Depot”) revised its Business Code of Conduct and Ethics (“Code”). The Code was revised to simplify content, make it more interactive and to engage for our associates, better align it with other Home Depot policies and reflect Home Depot's values based culture. Revisions include administrative changes such as formatting, layout, design and the addition of questions and answers illustrating the application of various provisions of the Code” (The Home Depot, 2012). There are various sentence structure issues in the above. Please proof read the paper prior to submittal. I suggest reading it aloud and you might hear the issues – sometimes that is a good approach. Or read the paper to someone at home/work that might help with proof reading.

To perform an external environmental analysis, the importance of resource planning and management of both internal and external resources should facilitate the flow of information. Home Depot must also be mindful of operations and how the business relates to resource planning. Without following ERP systems, Home Depot would not have any guidelines for building and improving? SCOR(r) (Strength, Challenge, Option, Response, and Effectiveness) is based on five distinct management processes: Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, and Return, this is best explained below. This process will ensure that a strategy is given and used. Okay
SCOR Management Process
Plan: The Process of the demand and the supply to give the balance that will develop a course of action which best meets the production, sourcing, and delivery requirements.
Source: Plans that meet and have the actual demand to process those goods and services that they have to offer.
Make: Transform product and process to a finished state to meet planned or actual demand.
Deliver: Providing the finished goods and services to meet planned or actual demand, which includes order management, transportation management, and distribution management.
Return: Providing the acquitted service for any returns or receiving returned products for reason.
What about the implementation, control and risk planning?
Conclusion
The number of types of customers, suppliers and competitors has changed dramatically due to web services eliminating human intervention and face to face; online, self-describing applications provide awareness to all business partners. They provide behavioral awareness of services, reliability, security, speed timeless information; surviving business. Customers are more involved from all over the world in the supply chain management and selection and ideas of products. A company does not want its product and service to have short life cycles, by listening or seeing a customer’s visualization it can become the foundation of a company’s design and objectives (Barney, 2007). Okay
Good start on this paper Crystal. The paper describes how your chosen organization's vision, mission, people strategies and value statements are aligned with the proposed strategic plan. It does describe how the strategic plan and implementation plan are compliant with the Code of Ethics or Ethics Policy. It describes the sources expected to be used to perform an external environmental analysis and internal environmental analysis including a SWOT. It describes how the strategic strategy or strategies are included in the plan. The paper lists other alternatives which are good. It does not describe how the strategic implementation plan, control plan, and risk or contingency plan are developed. These are the critical components of the final paper. The proposal has writing errors – needs to be proof read, it follows APA, is partially organized to meet the assignment requirements, has an introduction and a conclusion, and includes the required references.
