Please answer the question bellow. 100-150 words

Let’s take a look at culture in the early 1900s. Culture during the 1800s was quite different than today. America had just come out the Revolutionary War. If you take a look at the Northern states, we see they begin to industrialize. Immigrants mainly settled here.  The south had more traditional society. This society was based on plantation society. It is during this century, the move to the west was on. In this society, men and women worked side by side to make ends meet and to keep their homes intact. You will see women in the West lived a much more democratic life than their counter parts in the north and the south. Blacks in America during this time were treated differently depending on where they lived. If you lived in the South, you were a slave. There were very few freed black men and if they were, they were not considered as equals. If they lived in the north, it depended – black men and women were either slaves but more were black freed men and women. Having said this, democracy was limited for them. It was nHot until after the Civil War, did we see black men being elected to the House of Representatives or Senate. Here is a source that might be of interest.

So my question for you this week is --- what are your thoughts on the site I provided. Why do we see black men in public office prior to the Revolution and then after reconstruction.  Why not during the time between the Revolution and Civil War, especially when there were freed black men? Then why do we see a drop of Black men or women in Congress as we get into the 20th Century?

---Which technological innovation was most important for early-nineteenth-century economic development?

American producers had to compete with their British rivals.  The best way for them to do this was to improve on or surpass British technology.  A key pioneer in the development of new technology was Eli Whitney.  Eli Whitney was born in 1765, and by the time he was 14 years old, he was making knives and nails.  Later he made women's hatpins.  When Eli Whitney left New England and moved to the south in 1792, he learned that southern planters would greatly benefit from a way to squeeze more profit out of the cotton industry.  He knew that if he could invent a machine that would separate the seeds from the cotton efficiently, he could obtain a patent from the federal government. With a patent, he would have exclusive rights to the machine for 14 years. After a long struggle with legal battles and angry farmers, the state of South Carolina bought Whitney's patent right for $50,000, and North Carolina and Tennessee followed suit.  After the introduction of the cotton gin, the yield of raw cotton doubled every decade after 1800.  The cotton gin was such an important innovation because it created a need for more and better machines to spin and weave it, and the steamboat to transport it. Some say that the cotton gin made society worse because it created a need for more slave labor to feed the high demand for cotton. The machine processed the cotton, but it still had to be hand picked. Even with the negative social impacts, no one could overlook the fact that by 1850, America produced three-fourths of the worlds supply of cotton, and it was started by the technological innovation of Eli Whitney and his cotton gin.

–--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\3. Do you agree with Jefferson that the election of 1800 was a revolution?

In my point of view I do agree with Thomas Jefferson. I believe it was a real revolution in the principles of our government. This was the first time America had power to pass from one party to another. Thomas Jefferson was able to gain acceptance by the federalists. In my eyes this is the way the government was suppose to be.The 1800 election brought about changes. With this being said yes the  election should have been called revolution . You see the word revolution is define as an instance of revolving . This election showed that the power could be turn over from on party to another party without violence. This brought America to its turning point. The point is they were able to do all this exchanging power from one party to another without engaging in war.

-Could the War of 1812 be considered America's second War for independence?

In my personal opinion I can say that yes, it can be considered the second War for Independence. If we sit and compare all the similarities and reasons both of these Wars began, they have many reasons in common, for example; in both of these Wars United States was not directly involved in the beginning of both Wars. In World War 1 they we're neither allies or enemies. In WWI The United States did contribute to Great Britain and it's allies by supplying raw material and money. They also sent great amount of American soldiers. The United States got involved in the War when the German military began a submarine warfare, after repeatedly warning them that there actions would not be tolerated. They then thought they should get involved to implant some sort of peace. WWII basically begun the same way, they tried to stay out of this War while Germany invaded Poland, which is what is known as the beginning of this War. The United States tried to stay neutral but in a way was giving their allies more support. The United States fully engaged in WWII when Japan striked against Pearl Harbor. In both Wars Germany and it's allied attacked the United States basically forcing them to respond to such acts. I personally think that WWI led into WWII due to the fact that these countries just kept on going back and forth over power and territory. Although the United States was not in this War for the same reason as other countries it did fight for there own territory that was being attacked and in the middle of these Wars.
