Type your introduction here.

E.g. According to McGonigle and Mastrian (2012), “Observation and documentation of workflow to understand better what is happening in the current environment and how it can be altered is referred to as ‘process’ or ‘workflow analysis” (p. 266).

Tell us about the process you are going to use in your diagram. (Research and cite)

Stakeholders (Who does this help?) Comment by JDG: APA requires the use of headings and subheadings for scholarly papers. It makes our texts clearer and easier to organize. APA6th, p.62, #3.02 <Organizing a Manuscript With Headings>. Also, in the APA manual, on page 44 (Fig. 2.1), you can see a sample of it.

When forming a workflow analysis team, it is important to include participants who are able to contribute information regarding current workflow and are willing to suggest ideas for future state improvement (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2012). As indicated in the attached flowchart, the stakeholders participating in the workflow… (Research and cite)

Metrics Used to Measure Workflow Performance

McGonigle & Mastrian (2012) defined metrics as a measure of accomplishment of the “right workflow complement” (p. 276). Data is necessary to determine how a process is performing. In your opinion, is the metric effective? Why so? (Research and cite)

Areas for Improvement

The current workflow in my organization that is outlined in this diagram could be improved. There needs to be… (Research and cite)

Summary OR Conclusion (your choice but only one of the two)

Summarize and conclude here.

References Comment by JDG: Not bold. As you know, the Ref. List refers to the citations you made in your text. If an author is not cited in your narrative (text), it should not be in the RL. In a scholarly paper, several scholarly references are expected. Look at the Assignment Grading Rubric (in Course Information – Application Assignment Rubric); this will give you a guidance as to what is expected. Textbooks are not considered as scholarly sources. One of the goals behind writing a paper is to bring to light information from research already available.

You choose your own process. Like this one, it doesn’t have to be complicated and exhaustive. Demonstrate that you understand the concept. Use some yes and no possibilities.
