Case Study Assignments
Background for the assignment
Throughout this course you will be learning—and creating—various types of evaluations. For some of the assignments you will be asked to create specific evaluations, but as much as possible, I would like you to create real-life evaluations that you can use in your own classes now or in the future. In this assignment you will begin to create your real-life case study that will be the basis of your assignments. There are several benefits to using a case study as the basis for many of your evaluation assignments this semester: first, it allows you to situate the evaluation in a context that is familiar and meaningful to you rather than have me assign random case studies. Second, by using the same case study for several assignments you will see how each level of evaluation can fit together into a cohesive evaluation plan. Finally, creating your own case study allows you to use a real-life example if you are currently teaching and provides the background necessary so your peers and instructor understand the class you are evaluating.
If you currently teach or will be teaching in the future, I strongly encourage you to write your case study assignment on a real course. If you are not currently teaching a course, and will not be teaching in the near future, please use a course you have attended as the basis for your case study assignment. (for example, an ISU course or a course you attended in the workplace.)

(Graduate students: Running head not required) FYI: One of Robin’s writing pet peeves—there is no such thing as a one sentence paragraph.

Course Description
You will want to delete this text before you write your paper, but I wanted to show you the way paragraphs are formatted in APA. The first sentence is indented and the remainder of the sentences wrap on the left margin.
When you start a new paragraph, you do not put a blank line between paragraphs. The first sentence of every new paragraph is indented, with the remainder of the sentences aligned on the left margin.
